Proposed Action: Niland Wastewater Treatment System Improvements Imperial County, California Statement Type: Draft NEPA Draft Environmental Information Document
The Niland community receives services from the Niland Sanitary District (NSD) for wastewater collection and treatment. The Niland Sanitary District has submitted an application to the Border Environment Cooperation Commission (BECC) for certification of border funds to develop wastewater treatment system engineering and planning documents in support of improvements to the Niland Sanitary Sewer System. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) finances the Project Development and Assistance Program (PDAP) administered by BECC for the preparation of the Preliminary Engineering Review (PER) and Environmental Information Document (EID). It is anticipated that the recommended project, if selected, may be funded by the United States Department of Agriculture, Rural Assistance Program and North American Development Bank’s Border Environmental Infrastructure Program.
